Top Pick: UbiGear Network Tool Kit

At a Glance

  • 100-pieces modular connectors
  • Good collection of tools
  • Great value

Leading the pack with its unique features is the UbiGear Network Tool Kit. This network tool kit has everything a professional technician wants. Along with 100 pieces of RJ45 CAT5e 8P8C modular plug network connectors, it’s got another interesting part.

The price you’ll be paying is quite affordable. Some might say that a premium quality crimp would cost something like this.

Nonetheless, here’s what you’re getting inside the case. A crimper, a wire stripper, a network tester and obviously the 100 pieces of modular plug network connectors.

The crimper doesn’t come with high-quality chips but it’s good enough to get by regular fixing.

Now, let’s talk about the network tester. The one you’ll be getting is more than enough to get the job done. There are clear LED indicators that show you the status.

Whatever the situation is, the tester can catch it. But it’s a basic network tester. You can’t do anything slightly advanced with it.

Apart from all that, the carrying case was nice. It’s a regular nylon bag, nothing out of the ordinary. But at this price point, it’s not a good idea to expect something beyond that.

SGILE Network Tool Kit

At a Glance

  • Affordable deal
  • Has all the basic tools
  • Durable build

When it comes to budget-friendly network tool kits, the SGILE Network Tool Kit is something to look out for. While it doesn’t have everything you need like the UbiGear Network Tool kit, it covers all the basics.

You’ve got your network tester, wire striper, crimper. That’s what you’ll use most of the time anyway. But other than these basic tools, you get 7 other tools with it.

Even though it’s sort of a budget deal, you’re getting everything you need. Most importantly, the materials used in making tools are durable. With a combination of hard metal and ABC plastic, the durability is certified by professionals.

However, I did like the carrying case more than the UbiGear one. That one felt kind of jam-packed. Like someone forced a lot of tools into a small case.

In comparison to that, the SGILE network tool kit does a lot better. The tools have enough between them and obviously there are dedicated slots for each of the tools.

Other than being good at storing in an organized way, the bag is made out of durable nylon. With a quality zipper, the tools won’t jump around inside the case.

That being said, this network tool kit has the potential to become your next companion. The extra ‘gifts’ they included was a nice gesture but I liked the actual tools better.

Budget King: EDSACE Network Cable Repair Maintenance Tool Kit

At a Glance

  • Uses anti-corrosion material
  • 3-in-1 crimper
  • 2 extra screwdrivers

Do you know what I like about the EDSACE Network Cable Repair Maintenance Tool Kit? This network tool won’t offer you any extra ‘gifts’ if you know what I mean. But the things it’ll include will have top-notch performance and build-quality.

If it does basic stuff, then it’ll make sure that no one can beat it at those. Let’s start with the durability and materials used.

The crimper you’ll find inside the package is made out of carbon steel, which has increased durability along with anti-corrosion attributes. While most people keep their networking tools out of water anyways it doesn’t hurt to have it.

But what’s more interesting is, this isn’t only a crimper tool. Apart from being a crimper, you can use it both as a cutting and stripping tool. Having a 3 in 1 tool will increase your efficiency drastically if you can get a hold of what you’re doing.

Well, 3 of the tools are done, what’s left is the network tester. I’m not going to go into detail about that as it’s a budget deal. And it’s kind of a crime to expect a premium-grade network tester within this price range. But as I’ve said before, it gets the job done.

Other than that, I love the design of the carrying case. Most brands go with all-black nylon cases. I mean it doesn’t make sense to have that kind of design. I want my tools to be visible right away when I open the case. And this case nails that purpose.

Overall, this is the best budget networking tool kit you can right now. The tools are durable and they work as you’d expect.

Gaobige Network Cable Repair Maintenance Tool Kit

At a Glance

  • 11-pieces of tools
  • Compatible for various applications
  • Extra ergonomic screwdrivers

The Gaobige Network Cable Repair Maintenance Tool Kit has all the basic stuff you need for working with network cables. The conveniently packed zip bag will securely hold on to the tools when you have to get to a far away project site.

From different types of wire strippers to a wire punch impact tool, everything’s here. On top of that, they’ve also included a pair of screwdrivers in there. Both the Phillips head and flathead screwdriver are well-constructed.

While they have ergonomic handles unlike the UbiGear Network Tool Kit, you can’t expect to have premium quality out of these. At the end of the day, keep in mind that this is sort of a budget deal.

But I did like how they added a snap case with some CAT5 cable ends inside. It’s true that the snap box is probably cheap.

But what matters is, that box has a separate slot for it inside the case. This means you don’t have to carry a different box full of connectors and covers. Pack out a couple of things and you’ll be ready to go.

Other than that, the network tester has the same quality of the previous products. It’s good enough to do basic connection checking.

Best High-end: InstallerParts Network Repair Tool Kit

At a Glance

  • All-in-one complete package
  • Advanced network tester
  • Comes with knife and screwdriver set

Do you know what would make me happy at this moment? A big and glamorous entry for the next product on this list, the InstallerParts Network Repair Tool Kit.

If you’ve stuck till now, you know there are a few aspects where the previous products couldn’t make me happy. Those had basic features every networking tool kit had, nothing out of the ordinary.

Well, that’s where this networking tool comes in. Along with an advanced networking tester, it’s got every tool a cable technician would ever want.

On top of everything, it comes with a molded case to make things even better. While nylon cases do a great job of protecting and storing tools, it’s nowhere near as efficient and handy as molded cases with their cutout slot for each of the tools.

Moreover, the lightweight plastic case will protect your tools at all costs. Regardless of what the situation is, protection will be the number one priority.

On the other hand, you can get an idea from looking at the tester that it’s made to analyze even the tiny details. You get to test out each of the wires to see if they’re working or not. Along with that, you get earbuds for getting even deeper.

That being said, I’m glad to give this the best premium networking tool kit award. Whether you’re a professional or a DIY guy, it offers more than you’d need.

HEYLOO Professional 13 in 1 Network Computer Maintenance Repair Kit

At a Glance

  • Excellent carrying case
  • Ergonomic tools
  • Well-constructed

Next up on the list, I have the HEYLOO Professional 13 in 1 Network Computer Maintenance Repair Kit. This tool kit is kind of similar to the first product on this list, the UbiGear Networking Tool Kit.

The difference is mostly on the design part of the tool kit. Although I can’t deny that the build quality is slightly better too. For instance, the screwdrivers in the UbiGear tool kit don't look and feel that good to hold.

On the other hand, the one from HeyLoo has ergonomic handles along with better design.

Other than that, there’s the tester. I can’t say for sure about the durability because I couldn’t get to use them for a long time but they do seem better in terms of build quality. While the design part isn’t a big factor, it does seem better on the HeyLoo networking tool kit.

Finally, there’s the carrying case. This is not a regular sized networking tool kit bag. For some reason, they wanted more space inside the case. So, it’s quite larger than the average carrying case.

That being said, it needs no further explanation that this networking tool kit has the qualities to be a perfect partner. And to make the overall experience a little bit better, they included a battery for you.

SILIVN Network Repair Tool Set

At a Glance

  • Textured handles
  • Made with heavy-duty steel
  • Durable nylon case

The SILIVN Network Repair Tool Set is a quality networking tool kit that comes with everything you need to get started. Along with other tools, it comes with a network stripper and a wire stripper.

In terms of construction and durability, I’d say it’s close to the previous product on this list. So, you don’t need to worry about those things. The crimper is made out of high quality durable steel that won’t break anytime soon.

However, I do think that the network was better on the HeyLoo networking tool kit. But it does come with an easy to digest instructions manual.

Even if you don’t know much about cable repair, you’d get used to it after going through it for 5-6 minutes. While that’s not so related but it’s a plus point for people who are new to this.

The Complete Guide to Choosing the Best Networking Tool Kit

If you’re relatively new to the industry, buying a top-notch networking tool kit can get a bit confusing. After all, these are technical stuff that you can’t mess up.

So, here’s a comprehensive buying guide to make things buttery smooth for you-

Brand Value

This factor is mostly for newbies as they don’t know much about the brands and everything. However, buying off-brand networking tool kits might not be the best idea.

It’s true there aren’t gigantic brands, but if you look closely you’ll find the industry leaders. Instead of putting your money in a cheap low-quality product, invest in a durable and top-graded product.

Apart from being well-made, it’ll last for many years. Most importantly, these will have the tiny quirks that make your job easier.

Customer Reviews

An easy way to figure this out is to look at the customer reviews. I know it sounds a bit weird as I’m reviewing the products myself. But get a few different opinions. It’s for your own good.

If the majority of users tell you something good about a networking tool kit, chances are it’s actually worth buying. But make sure it fits your requirements.

Durability

There’s a fine relation between high-quality materials and durability. While manufacturers might not always include the materials they use, you can find it with a little extensive research.

Even though networking tool kits don’t cost much, you’d want them to last for a few years. So, ensure the durability of the product you’re buying.

Budget

You’d have to play smart when it comes to the budget part. The good news is networking tool kits are quite affordable. But that doesn’t mean you should get the most expensive one in the market.

Whichever networking tool kit you choose, make sure it has all the tools and features you need to work efficiently.

Tools and Accessories

A networking tool kit wouldn’t be complete if it didn’t have all the necessary tools. But there’s a lot more to it than you’d think-

Carrying Case

You need something to carry your tool kits, right? It’s not like you can carry these in a polybag. And buying a tool bag isn’t worth it for this purpose. So, here are the options you get-

Nylon Case

Nylon cases are the most common carrying case manufacturers go for. Nylon being a durable material makes an excellent choice for storing the tools. On top of that, they come with a zipper to ensure the tools don’t fall off when you’re on moving.

However, nylon cases won’t last for long. But considering what you’re paying for, it’s a great deal.

Molded Case

When it comes to protection, molded cases are the best. With a hard shell on the outer side, they boast durability. Even if it falls off from a great height, the tools will stay intact. Apart from that, these things come with a handle, making them easier to carry around.

But there is one problem.

You see some molded cases have individual slots for each of the tools while others don’t. Whatever the case, my suggestion would be to get one with designated slots as it makes storing a lot easier.

Crimper

Crimpers are something that all networking tool kits will have. Every technician I know has one of these and for good reasons.

So, why did I make it into a different topic?

It’s because not all networking tool kits will have multifunctional crimpers. To save up on the cost, some of them come with a crimper that’s only suited for RJ45 cables.

This means you’d have to buy a different crimper if you stumbled upon something other than an RJ45 cable. When you think about it, this wastes both space and money. That’s why you should get a versatile crimper for multi-functionality.

Network Tester

You can’t think of a networking tool kit without a network tester. While most brands will include one of these, not all of them do their jobs well.

A top-graded network tester will be made out of durable material with a variety of connectors. On top of that, it should come with a sufficient amount of functional LED indicators.

Final Verdict

Whenever people ask me about tool kits, I tell them one thing. It’s to avoid the cheapest products if you’re going to use them for a long time. Even if you’re someone who’s just starting out, get something in the middle. But consider it as an investment.

That being said, I declare the UbiGear Networking Tool Kit as the best networking tool kit. But if budget wasn’t an issue, I’d go for the InstallerParts Network Repair Tool Kit any day.
